Jojoba Seed Oil

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

Jojoba oil is specifically referred to as an oil, but in fact it is chemically more a kind of wax, more specifically a wax ester. This makes jojoba unique among oils. Wax esters are found in the sebum produced by the face itself, as a result of which jojoba oil behaves like sebum on the skin and treats and moisturizes the skin without clogging the pores. That's why jojoba oil is number one for acne: it effectively moisturizes the skin without fear of the extra oil-induced sebum, balances the skin's excessive sebum production and soothes the inflammatory state of the skin.

Thanks to its “oil-freeness,” jojoba oil also stays better for longer than many other oils.  Like all facial oils, jojoba oil softens and smoothes the skin effectively. Jojoba oil is packed full of flavonoids and vitamin E, which protects the skin from free radicals that cause aging.  Because jojoba oil is an excellent skin sedative with anti-inflammatory properties, it can be helpful in treating eczema, rosacea, or otherwise just sensitive skin.
